From May to November, San Servolo becomes the “Island of Design” for Venice’s Biennale Architettura.
From May until November 2018, for the 16th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice, San Servolo Island becomes the headquarters of VID – Venice Innovation Design, a project (entirely “made in Italy”) that aims to make Venice a permanent exhibition venue for the architecture world.
The former Benedictine monastery’s 12 multipurpose rooms and beautiful park are turned into real design workshops, where some of the most renowned Italian companies can design and implement design pieces or renovations.
Partner companies can pick their preferred area (from furniture to lighting, from hospitality to accommodation) and redesign or customise the spaces, forever leaving their mark in San Servolo.
Among those taking part in Venice Innovation Design: Aresline, Attico Interni, Cosentino, Fimes, Lago, LCF, Oikos, Tosetto, Vistosi.
The venue:
San Servolo Conference Centre is located on an island in the Venetian Lagoon, formerly used as a monastery. It has 12 meeting rooms that can seat 15-240 people and 300 bedrooms. The island is also home to the VIU-Venice International University.
